As a refinisher and independent contractor I would like to inform the public about our business/service.
Most of the inquiries that I get are from potential customers that are looking to refinish their bathtubs and the most asked question is "How Much"? If it were like shopping through the yellow pages and the net for a cheaper price on a known brand of merchandise or a specific product, I would say this is a wise move. For if you can get a specific item , with a specific formula or model number, why not get it at a lower price, this is only being a wise shopper. However in the Refinishing industry there are numerous variables, such as the coating and what is required of that specific coating, what are the specifications, the procedure and preparation for that specific coating. Almost all refinishers use different procedures and different coatings of greater and lesser quality. All bathtubs are not created equal either and many is the time I had to think on my feet in order to facilitate a good end result.
What I guess I am saying is that refinishing is more an "Art in Application" than a given product and the well informed customer , if wise, will take this into consideration in their search for a refinisher.
Ask the important questions first and price last.
